Our affiliated professors are based at over 120 universities and conduct randomized evaluations around the world to design, evaluate, and improve programs and policies aimed at reducing poverty. They set their own research agendas, raise funds to support their evaluations, and work with J-PAL staff on research, policy outreach, and training.

Senior Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Gayathri Sowrirajan is a Senior Research Associate currently working on a project that encourages skilling and employment opportunities for female rural-to-urban migrant workers in Karnataka. Prior to this, she was involved in a scoping study in Tamil Nadu to understand the factors contributing to maternal anemia and early growth failure in the state.
In her capacity as a Research Associate (Data), she was involved in projects related to the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme in Tamil Nadu and Aarogyasri in Andhra Pradesh at the Innovations in Data and Experiments for Action Initiative (IDEA Lab).
Gayathri holds a Master's degree in Social Research (Quantitative) from the University of Edinburgh and an Integrated Master's in Development Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
