Maithili Sharma is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia, where she contributes to the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) project in Surat. This initiative, in collaboration with the Gujarat Pollution Control Board and EPIC-India, is pioneering a market-based trading system for particulate matter emissions, aiming to create a scalable model for sustainable environmental regulation across Gujarat and beyond.

Before joining J-PAL, Maithili worked as a Management Consultant at Kepler Cannon, where she led process optimization and digital transformation projects across diverse sectors, including financial services, healthcare, and SaaS. Her experience spans strategy development, operational efficiency, and technology-driven interventions. She has also gained research experience through internships at NITI Aayog, TERI, and ICRIER, where she worked on policy analysis, and economic research.

Maithili holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
