Mauricio Romero is an associate professor of economics at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. Mauricio studies bottlenecks that impede high-quality government provision of education, health care, and environmental protection and has conducted research in Colombia, Tanzania, Kenya, and Liberia. Alongside his empirical research, Mauricio also studies methodological issues in applied econometrics and statistics. He received his PhD in economics from the University of California, San Diego.
Mauricio has served as a lecturer at J-PAL training events.
