Research Associate, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean

Renata Serson is a research assistant at J-PAL LAC, where she collaborates on a study that explores how technical and vocational training programs in Brazil can enhance youth employability by fostering soft skills. Her current responsibilities include analyzing administrative data and supporting the implementation of a large-scale RCT. In addition to her role at J-PAL LAC, she is also Research Associate at the Impact Team of Wadhwani Foundation.

She holds a double bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration from Insper and is completing her master’s in Economics at FEA/USP. During her undergraduate studies, she attended an exchange program at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, supported by the Lemann Foundation in recognition of her academic merit. Her master's thesis, presented at EGAP's Contributed Session during LACEA 2024, evaluates the pilot implementation of Em Busca do Tesouro, a financial education program for public school children led by Brazil’s National Treasury, using an RCT approach.
