Rishav Ray
Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Rishav is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia where he is currently working on the "Taaron ki Toli Scale-Up" project in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The program aims to generate awareness of gender-based discrimination and provide tools to promote gender-equitable attitudes amongst adolescent school children.
Previously, he has worked as a Research Intern at IIT Delhi where he assisted his investigator on a project examining the impact of automation on labor market.
Rishav holds a M.Sc. in Economics from Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi-NCR, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics from Scottish Church College under the University of Calcutta. His Masters' thesis was conducting a household-level evaluation of the "Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM)" program, introduced by the Indian Government in 2014, on short-term health outcomes. His research interests lie in fields of development and political economics with a focus on education, health, and gender.
