David Martínez Hernández
Research Fellow, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean
David Martínez is a research and scaling fellow at J-PAL LAC. He works under supervision of J-PAL affiliated Mauricio Romero for the Government Partnership Expansion in Mexico. His main task is to provide analysis and training that lead to evaluations following J-PAL’s mission at INFONAVIT, the biggest mortgage provider in Mexico.
He worked as a research assistant for Horacio Larreguy developing research aiming to expose the consequences of misinformation and disinformation consumption. Later, he served at INFONAVIT’s risk department developing analysis to better understand their customers and provide insights about their behavior to the Chief Risk Officer office. Prior to entering J-PAL LAC, he worked as a strategy deputy director at Grupo Financiero Banorte where he supervised the implementation of Randomized Controlled Trials to develop and evaluate the impact of novel commercial strategies.
David holds an Economics degree from ITAM with an honorific mention.
