Jasmin Korant
Senior Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Jasmin Korant is a Senior Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia. He leads the execution of the Groundwater Management project in Gujarat (India), studying the impact of price incentives on water consumption among farmers using groundwater for irrigation.
Before joining J-PAL, he worked with the Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore, where he engaged with the Government of Gujarat to strengthen decentralized Governance institutions focusing on improving the economic prospects of the districts. He has also worked with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, where he performed capacity-building and research roles for evaluating and designing social development programs. The four years of his work experience have been a summation of implementing several projects and cultivating partnerships with governments, civil society organizations, and researchers to contribute toward better policy design and implementation efforts.
He holds a Master's in Public Policy and Governance from Azim Premji University - Bangalore and a Bachelor's in Business Economics from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
His interests lie in working on improving service delivery and making governments more responsive to the community's needs, and enhancing interaction between local public institutions and citizens.
