Sean Higgins

Sean Higgins is an Associate Professor of finance at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern

University. His research studies how technology reduces barriers to financial inclusion and the effect of

reducing these barriers on households and small firms. Specifically, much of his research has focused on

on the impact of government-issued debit cards on poor communities and households. Sean holds a

PhD in economics from Tulane University and was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California,

Berkeley.
