Our affiliated professors are based at over 120 universities and conduct randomized evaluations around the world to design, evaluate, and improve programs and policies aimed at reducing poverty. They set their own research agendas, raise funds to support their evaluations, and work with J-PAL staff on research, policy outreach, and training.

Senior Research Manager, J-PAL North America
Jesse Gubb is a Senior Research Manager at J-PAL North America, where he works on co-Scientific Director Amy Finkelstein’s randomized evaluations and on developing research resources. Prior to joining J-PAL in 2019, he earned a PhD in political science at Harvard University, where he studied the American presidency. Jesse also holds a BA in political science from Middlebury College.
