Sebastian Figari
Research Associate, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean
Sebastián Figari is a Research Associate at J-PAL LAC where he works on a project about adopting cleaner technologies, and its impact on health, educational attainments, and other economic outcomes. This project aims to understand which barriers the persons face when they evaluate to adopt cleaner technologies, such as informational frictions or liquidity constraints; and which are the welfare effects related to going over these barriers. Another strand of this project is to understand the relationship between the parents' health outcomes and their children's education attainment, in a context where both benefit from pollution reduction.
Prior to joining J-PAL in 2022, he worked at R.A. in different Political Economy and Labor Economics projects. Sebastián holds an M.A. in Economics and a Business and Economic B.A. from PUC-Chile.
