Senior Research Manager, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean

Edivaldo Constantino is the Senior Research Manager at J-PAL LAC, where he leads the research vertical which includes overseeing all the research projects developed and implemented in the region. Before this role, he served as the Manager of the Jobs and Opportunity Initiative Brazil (JOI Brazil | J-PAL).

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2021, he worked as a professor in the Department of Economics at the University of São Paulo and as a Senior Economist at OLX Brazil. Edivaldo also has experience working as a consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Institute of Economic Research Foundation (FIPE).

Edivaldo holds a PhD in Economics from the University of São Paulo and a Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). He is a member of the Brazilian Black Economists Network (REPP) and is interested in applied microeconomics, labor markets, and regional and urban economics.
