Nitesh Bharadwaj
Senior Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Nitesh Bharadwaj is a Senior Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia, where he currently works on the “School Leadership Training” project based out of Hyderabad. The project examines the role of targeted capacity building and leadership training to public school leaders, towards improving efficiency and outcomes.
Over the past two years as a Research Associate in J-PAL, Nitesh had worked on a diverse portfolio of projects such as - Collective Action in Irrigation, Land Inequality and Structural Transformation, Arsenic Awareness in Ground Water and Mission Kakatiya Minor Irrigation-Tanks’ Rehabilitation.
Before joining J-PAL, he worked briefly as a Deputy Manager; Public Health, at Sambodhi Research and Communications Pvt Ltd. In this role, Nitesh handled the baseline impact evaluation of a program aimed to improve clinical and socio-economic outcomes in Tuberculosis patients, across 4 Indian states.
Nitesh is a Dentist by undergraduate training and holds a Masters’ degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, in Public Health; specialized in Health Policy, Economics and Finance.
Nitesh is passionate about Randomized Evaluations and Public Policy Advocacy. His specific research and policy interests lie in Mental Health, Gender Studies, Health Systems of Global South, Universal Health Coverage and Child Learning Outcomes.
