Paul Berthe
Senior Policy Associate, J-PAL Africa
Paul C.J. Berthe is a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL Africa, where he works on the Girls Education & Empowerment and Health portfolios. He collaborates with researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to implement evidence-based strategies that enhance educational outcomes for girls and improve health systems in the Global South.
In addition to his role at J-PAL Africa, Paul is pursuing a Ph.D. in Communications at Columbia University, where he leads a randomized controlled trial to assess the impact of a media intervention on alleviating HIV stigma among youth in South Africa. He holds an M.A. in International Development from Sciences Po Paris, graduating magna cum laude, and a B.A. in Economics and International Development from McGill University.
