Silvia Prina is an professor of economics at Northeastern University. Her research focuses on understanding the behavior of the poor for the purpose of uncovering potential strategies to improve their lives. Silvia studies the impact of financial access on the welfare and decisionmaking of the poor. Her research highlights the role of networks and peers in shaping economic decisions and develops new empirical methods in this context. She received her PhD in economics from Boston University.
