Despite widespread support for policies and programs aimed at tackling discrimination, more research is needed to identify which strategies are effective and in which contexts. Research in social psychology has developed several techniques to help individuals overcome their biases. While these have been shown to be effective in lab settings, there has been little work to study such strategies in real-world contexts. Doing so is essential for incorporating them into everyday programs in order to effectively promote equity.

In our upcoming webinar, Countering Discrimination: Combating Innate and Societal Biases, panelists will discuss the need for more evidence around effective programs to combat discriminatory practices (e.g. racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia etc.).

This webinar will showcase an example of interdisciplinary, policy-relevant research focused on prejudice reduction. This will be followed by a panel discussion, where researchers and practitioners will discuss how rigorous, interdisciplinary research can help inform anti-discrimination programing, as well as highlight areas for future research.

An audience Q&A session will follow.
