Providing Girls Another Chance at Education in India: Enablers and Barriers

Evidence from a diversity of contexts has shown the potential economic, social, and political benefits of educating girls. Despite this, there is muted evidence on interventions that specifically target girls who have dropped out of school. Pratham's Second Chance program focuses on providing women who have dropped out of school another chance at education by helping them to complete Grade 10. The researchers propose to design an evaluation to understand the impact of the Second Chance program on 10th grade outcomes, and education/labor market outcomes beyond 10th grade.
