Procedural Justice Training (Anaheim Police Department)
The Anaheim Police Department (APD) serves the city of Anaheim (CA). Its mission is to maintain a safe community for residents to live, work and play by proactively impacting crime, striving to be a high-performing organization, and enhancing community relationships. APD, along with researchers Ray Novaco (University of California, Irvine) and Emily Owens (University of California Irvine, J-PAL affiliated researcher), is partnering with J-PAL North America to develop an evaluation of the “Train to Serve'' program for officers that focuses on Procedural Justice and Employee Wellness. The program aims to provide officers with tools and skills to deal with their difficult, complex, and stressful job while understanding the importance of developing a strong relationship with the community they serve.
