Play-based learning intervention for Early Childhood Development in rural Tanzania
This pilot project focuses on evaluating the impact of play-based learning intervention implemented by the Tanzania Early Childhood Education and Care (TECEC) in under-resourced communities of Mara and Mwanza regions. The intervention includes the design of learning materials from locally recyclable materials and will include training of pre-primary teachers and parents/caregivers on designing the learning materials. The study will use clustered randomized control trials on eligible public primary schools and target the preschoolers in the pre-primary level 2. The evaluation will measure primary outcomes on academic and holistic skills as well as the transition of preschoolers to the primary level.
