Long Term Effects of Micro Entrepreneurship Program

Researchers will study the long-term effects of a micro-entrepreneurship program implemented by the Chilean government. The program delivered start-up capital and training. The mid-term evaluation showed a positive effect on micro-entrepreneurship and wage work. They plan to combine administrative data and survey data to study the effects 10 years after the program was implemented. Administrative data is already collected and includes information on wage work, mortality, asset ownership, and participation in similar programs, among other outcomes. This proposal will help to collect information on other relevant outcomes, such as self-employment, to provide a general assessment of the long-term effects of this program.
