Evaluation, Performance, and Analytics (San Diego, CA)

The County of San Diego Office of Evaluation, Performance, and Analytics (OEPA) and the Office of Planning & Development Services (PDS) are partnering with J-PAL invited researchers, Gordon McCord and Teevrat Garg (UCSD), and J-PAL North America to explore opportunities for randomized evaluation within the County’s Climate Action Plan (CAP). This project will focus on two programs within the CAP that may be well suited for randomized evaluation: the Equity-Driven Tree Planting Program to increase tree canopy coverage in unincorporated areas, and the Climate Smart Land Stewardship Program to encourage low-carbon farming practices. This project will support literature reviews and other scoping efforts to assess the feasibility of future randomized evaluations to support the County of San Diego CAP.
