Public lecture by Abhijit Banerjee at Humboldt University of Berlin

J-PAL Europe is thrilled to invite policymakers, researchers, students, and the general public to a lecture by Nobel Laureate and J-PAL Co-Founder Abhijit Banerjee on "Experimentation and the Fight against Poverty: What have we learned and what’s next?".

The lecture will be held at the School of Business and Economics of Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (Spandauer Straße 1, Room 201) on Wednesday, 26 June 2024, at 16:00, hosted by KfW. 

There will be no livestream or recording of the lecture. No registration is required for attendance.

J-PAL Europe is excited to bring Abhijit Banerjee to Berlin to continue and deepen its engagement with policymakers and researchers in Germany.

About Abhijit Banerjee

Abhijit Banerjee is currently the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2003, he founded J-PAL along with Esther Duflo and Sendhil Mullainathan, and remains one of J-PAL's directors. Abhijit Banerjee is the recipient of the 2019 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, awarded jointly with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer "for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty." He is the author of a large number of articles and five books, including Poor Economics and Good Economics for Hard Times, both coauthored with Esther Duflo.
