ADEPT partnerships

ADEPT is powered by our diverse network of partners—from universities and training institutions to governments, foundations, and the private sector. Together, we create pathways and programs that support the development of skills in data, evaluation, and policy design.

J-PAL’s partnerships with universities and training institutions under ADEPT begin with an initiation stage in which we co-define clear partnership objectives based on mutual goals, shared priorities, and the identification of the key steps needed to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Partners develop and implement the Alliance model that best fits their needs at their institutions;  once set, our partners engage with others in the ADEPT network, sparking new opportunities and collaborations that drive knowledge exchange and innovation across the evidence-to-policy landscape.

Our partnership models

Universities and training institutions

ADEPT has three broad and flexible partnerships that are designed to be adaptable to the objectives of our partners and are anchored by the DEDP MicroMasters credential.

Consider DEDP credentials as an input in the admissions process.

The rigor of the program offers a strong signal of academic performance, while also enhancing the signaling value of diplomas from underrepresented communities, providing an opportunity for universities to diversify their student body.

Pathway University

Offer credit for some or all DEDP MicroMasters courses towards existing residential credentials.

This enables students to apply to expedited or flexible degree programs within a global network of pathway universities.

ADEPT Campus

Leverage DEDP content as part of on-campus experience for learners.

The approach is flexible and responsive to partners’ needs and the local context, with DEDP coursework reinforced through tailored, in-person applications. Learners may include graduate students. mid-career professionals, and more.

These categories are not mutually exclusive; for example, a university partner may host a residential master’s program that both offers credit for DEDP courses taken prior to admission and leverages DEDP content in its curriculum. However, each partnership model provides a different mode of collaboration and entails a different set of resources.

Governments, foundations, and the private sector

We welcome partnerships with governments, foundations, philanthropies, and the private sector to support our work, fund new collaborations with universities and training institutions, and create new opportunities for students and Alliance members.
