Anchored by a network of more than 1,000 researchers at universities around the world, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to answer critical questions in the fight against poverty.
Our affiliated professors are based at over 120 universities and conduct randomized evaluations around the world to design, evaluate, and improve programs and policies aimed at reducing poverty. They set their own research agendas, raise funds to support their evaluations, and work with J-PAL staff on research, policy outreach, and training.

Senior Policy Associate, J-PAL Global
Jack Ellington is a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL Global, where he works with the Environment, Energy, and Climate Change (E2C2) sector. Jack interned with J-PAL’s policy team prior to joining full-time in 2021. In the past, he has also worked on a number of environmental and public health advocacy campaigns with the Public Interest Research Group in Michigan.
Jack graduated with distinction from the University of Michigan in 2021, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics and a minor in English.
