Ulayya Gempur Tirani
Training & Policy Associate, J-PAL Southeast Asia
Ulayya Gempur Tirani is a Training and Policy Associate at J-PAL Southeast Asia, where she works on developing and delivering training on generating and using rigorous evidence for policy making which is designed for a wide range of audience including policymakers, researchers, and practitioners. Ulayya also assists in developing new research projects and partnerships to test and improve the effectiveness of social programs.
Prior to joining J-PAL in 2023, she was a Graduate Consultant at Accion Center for Financial Inclusion, where she conducted research on digital financial inclusion and consumer protection among women MSMEs in India.
Ulayya holds a Master of Public Administration in Economic Development from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
