Rajesh Tamadapally
Policy Manager, J-PAL South Asia
As a Policy Manager for J-PAL South Asia’s partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Rajesh supports in evaluation as well as enhancing the existing anti-poverty programs & policies of the State with the aim of reducing poverty by promoting strategic, evidence-based approach to policymaking.
Before joining J-PAL, Rajesh worked as a Consultant with Government of Telangana where he contributed to reducing malnutrition and development of Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). During his stint at NHM, AP, Rajesh led initiatives to reduce IMR & MMR and supported State Covid-19 Command Control Centre.
Rajesh was a Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellow (PMRDF), selected by Government of India to improve last-mile service delivery of government programs and design innovative solutions to reduce poverty in the 80 most-backward districts (districts with high tribal population which are also influenced by left-wing extremism) of India. As a PMRDF in Malkangiri district of Odisha, Rajesh co-created solutions to improve outcomes in various sectors like health, nutrition, sanitation etc.
Through different NGOs, Rajesh volunteered for various causes like education, livelihoods in addition to promoting active citizenship.
Rajesh holds a Master’s in Development Practice from TISS, Mumbai and a Bachelor’s degree from BITS-Pilani.
