Yuri Machkasov

Yuri Machkasov is a Senior Finance and Operations Manager at J-PAL Global, where he leads systems improvement projects and provides support for financial and operational management. 

Before joining J-PAL, Yuri spent 10 years at World Education, Inc. He focused on global education and economic strengthening initiatives, managing programs and ensuring financial compliance across projects funded by the U.S. Government and other public and private funders. Initiatives included developing community funding mechanisms for income generation projects and collaborating with the Mozambican government to implement bilingual education at scale. 

Yuri is fluent in Portuguese and has conversational skills in Spanish and Russian. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Global Business and Spanish language from the University of Minnesota, Morris.
