Our affiliated professors are based at over 120 universities and conduct randomized evaluations around the world to design, evaluate, and improve programs and policies aimed at reducing poverty. They set their own research agendas, raise funds to support their evaluations, and work with J-PAL staff on research, policy outreach, and training.

Associate Director - Research, J-PAL South Asia
Putul Gupta is the Associate Director – Research at J-PAL South Asia where she leads the research management portfolio with a strong focus on cross vertical collaboration and strategic partnerships and provides oversight on research initiatives to ensure the integrity and quality of ongoing randomized evaluations. Putul joined J-PAL South Asia as a Research Associate in 2013 and has over 7 years of experience working on complex randomized evaluations across several thematic areas such as health, education and governance. She holds an M. Sc. in Sociology from the University of Oxford.
