The IZA Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and J-PAL’s King Climate Action Initiative are hosting a policy roundtable, "Harnessing Rigorous Research to Shape Climate Policy and Inform the Public Debate," on the evening of Wednesday, 14 May 2025, in Bonn, Germany. As part of the IZA Workshop on Climate and Environmental Economics, the event will bring together an active audience of representatives of European policy organizations, as well as the participants of the IZA scientific workshop.

Time: Wednesday, 14 May 2025, 5.30pm-7:00 pm CET, followed by a reception

Location: IZA Institute of Labor Economics, Schaumburg-Lippe-Straße 5-9, Bonn, Germany

Format: In-person (Should you be interested in attending virtually please let us know when registering—we will open this option if there is sufficient demand.)

The policy roundtable will address how different organisations - governments, funders, and implementing partners - use rigorous evidence to define and implement their climate policies, and how collaboration between policymakers and researchers can be more effectively leveraged to inform climate policy. A case study will provide the example of J-PAL’s own Air and Water Labs.
