Prachi Das
Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Prachi is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia. She is currently working on a project which is studying the effect of adopting regenerative agriculture practices on smallholder farmer livelihoods. Prior to this, she worked on two projects: the High-Frequency Monitoring of the Public Distribution System across Odisha and a project studying the historical land revenue systems and their impact on current relations between caste groups and women's labor participation in Sambalpur, Odisha.
Before joining J-PAL, she worked with IIIT, Bangalore, on a project focused on understanding the transitions in welfare and livelihood security of gig-workers in the evolving on-demand platform economy. Additionally, she has consulted on short-term projects with the United Nations Foundation and AJWS and also worked with the Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy at Ashoka University.
Prachi holds an MPhil in Development Practice from Ambedkar University, Delhi, and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College for Women.
