When does climate finance have real impact?
UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SIDE EVENT
In the race to meet global climate targets, one crucial factor in accelerating progress is the application of rigorous, high-quality evidence on what solutions work to cut emissions or help people to adapt to climate change. Asset owners, investors, and firms are increasingly setting ambitious climate goals, but the challenge remains: how do we determine which strategies are truly effective?
To answer this question, the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT has been generating rigorous, high-quality evidence on social and environmental interventions for over two decades.
During UNGA and Climate Week, join J-PAL's ESG and Corporate Partnerships team and the King Climate Action Initiative to delve into the critical role of evidence-based decision-making in climate finance. We will explore how rigorous data and research can be leveraged to identify, measure, and maximize the impact of climate investments. Speakers will provide lenses into which emerging climate interventions can drive meaningful impact, offering insights into the best bets for evidence-backed investments that can accelerate climate action.
