Evidence-Based Education: Policy-Making and Reform in Africa
Partners:
Evidence-Based Education: Policy-Making and Reform in Africa was jointly organized by J-PAL, IPA, and the Ghana Education Service (GES). The conference brought together international and African researchers and policymakers to share results from rigorous randomized evaluations of education programs, and to discuss how to apply what we have learned to ensure access to quality education across Africa.
Each of the six research panels began with a presenter outlining an issue in the education sector. A researcher then summarized the evidence from rigorous research on the panel topic, and practitioners commented on possible solutions, using real-world examples. The panels concluded with a moderated discussion focused on identifying the next wave of relevant research questions. A seventh panel discussed case studies of scaling up successful interventions.
