The global pandemic and economic shutdown due to COVID-19 are likely to have enormous impacts on rural households, and being self-employed might affect the ability of households to mitigate, cope with, and recover from the shock. Researchers are conducting a randomized evaluation to test the impact of access to credit and business training on entrepreneurs’ business outcomes and households’ resilience to cope with the consequences of COVID-19. Research is ongoing; results are forthcoming.
