Akhilan J R is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia where he is part of the Gay Rights in India (GRI) project, which seeks to evaluate the impact of LGBTQ laws on people's behavior.
Prior to joining J-PAL, Akhilan worked as a consultant for The Asia Foundation on the India-U.S. Triangular Development Partnership (TriDEP) program where he prepared reports to help with program design.
Akhilan holds a MA Public Policy degree from O.P. Jindal Global University, and a Bachelors degree in Journalism, Psychology and English from CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
