About the Organization

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center working to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. Anchored by a network of 194 affiliated professors at universities around the world, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to answer critical questions in the fight against poverty. J-PAL South Asia, based at the Institute for Financial Management and Research in India, leads J-PAL’s work in the South Asia region. J-PAL South Asia conducts randomized evaluations, builds partnerships for evidence-informed policymaking, and helps partners scale up effective programs. Over more than ten years of existence, J-PAL South Asia has conducted 193 ongoing and completed randomized evaluations.

Job Summary:

The Senior Associate / Assistant Manager LD will play a pivotal role in enhancing employee development and engagement through comprehensive learning and development initiatives. Reporting to the HR Head, this role involves designing and managing onboarding processes, facilitating HR policy training, and spearheading associate and manager development programs. The role also includes curriculum development, content creation, and leveraging multimedia tools to support learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onboarding sessions for new hires, ensuring a smooth and informative transition into the organization.
  • Provide comprehensive training on HR policies and procedures.
  • Update training materials as policies evolve.
  • Manage the associate development program end-to-end, conducting 2-3 programs per year. Coordinate program logistics, participant selection, and feedback collection.
  • Oversee the manager development program, conducting it once a year. Ensure the program meets the development needs of managers and aligns with organizational goals.
  • Develop and update training content, focusing on soft skills, with at least one new module per month.
  • Integrate various learning enablers, such as reading materials, YouTube videos, books, and periodicals, into the curriculum.
  • Own the production, editing, and uploading of training videos and fireside chats on the J-PAL portal.
  • Act as the process champion for Individual Development Plans.
  • Champion employee engagement through events such as Diwali Mela, book readers club, and hiking challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in learning and development or a related HR role.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience in content development and curriculum design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
