Research Associate, Colombia

Job Description

DIL is seeking to hire a full-time Research Associate to work with Dr.Vesall Nourani and possibly other faculty as part of the Development Innovation Lab. Successful applicants will collaborate on new and ongoing research in Colombia relating to education, and capacity building.

Responsibilities

The Research Associate will visit partnering institutions throughout Colombia where they will evaluate data collection practices and systems at each new entity and help them develop a system of data collection in alignment with the goals of the project to ensure the production of datasets and tables needed by the project.

This will include: 

• Programming surveys to digitize the paper records
• Communicating with partner institutions to assess needs and identify interests in research partnership
• Guaranteeing the training of the digitizers from the partner institutions
• Answering questions that the partners might have regarding the data collection
• Programming High Frequency Checks of the data entered by the entities throughout Colombia to correct errors in the data entry process
• and cleaning, tidying, and analyzing data to deliver it to DIL researchers according to their data management protocol
