Summary of the Organization:

Learning Collider is a social science research lab leveraging untapped data, technology, and researchers to improve the social and economic mobility of underserved populations. We partner with tech companies in Education, Workforce, and Housing to collaboratively design mutually-beneficial research projects related to product design, impact, and/or data collection and use. 

Our lab has a pulse on billions of valuable data points and our model of success has garnered the attention of major stakeholders in technology, philanthropy, academia, U.S. public policy, international development, and more. Some of our projects include:

  • Developing an approach that combines human and artificial intelligence to students’ course recommendation to improve equity in advanced course taking 
  • Developing a novel computational model to fully harness the potential of tech-based personalized learning

Summary of the Role:

The Research Project Manager will support our lab’s growing portfolio of education research projects and data-driven, social-impact partnerships. This position will work closely with our team of data scientists, applied researchers, tech partners, and report to the lab’s Research Director.

This position is integral in setting up every research project for success, from ideation to scaled intervention. Project management, systems thinking, organization, logistics, planning, and relationships are the building blocks of this position. The successful candidate will also share our lab’s commitment to tech-based and research-driven social impact.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree required. Ideal majors are Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related social science fields. 
  • Experience in supporting or contributing to quantitative research studies is required for at least one post-Masters job.
  • Previous experience managing research projects is required, for at least one post-Masters job. 
  • Experience working with school districts, education-focused research, and/or education technology platform is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of statistics, data science, and research methodologies is required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated success in taking initiative within multi-stakeholder projects and establishing operational practices and procedures; and demonstrated success in taking ownership of projects and work assignments. 
  • Ability to work flexibly and collegially with staff at all levels and in all job profiles.
