ASPIRE hosted an exclusive roundtable in 2024 on the significance of multi-stakeholder partnerships and local community engagement to drive inclusive development, in line with the Government of India’s vision of ‘Samaveshi Aajeevika’. The convening brought together policymakers, civil society organizations and the philanthropic community to explore pathways for scaling evidence-based social protection programs such as the Graduation Approach. Nobel Laureate and J-PAL co-founder Abhijit Banerjee delivered the keynote, reflecting on his two-decades long journey with the Graduation Approach. Read more here.

The Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (known as JEEViKA), NGO Bandhan-Konnagar, and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) South Asia launched the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana: Ending Ultra Poverty at Scale, a playbook developed for government and civil society organizations working towards ending extreme poverty. ASPIRE Launch at Charcha 2022 | J-PAL South Asia
ASPIRE hosted the Governance and State Capacity track at Charcha 2022, the flagship convening of The/Nudge Forum. The track featured three engaging and interactive sessions on strengthening evidence-based policymaking, bringing together some of India’s eminent civil servants, senior researchers, and civil society leaders to share their insights and experiences. Among them were Amitabh Kant, former chief executive, NITI Aayog, Rukmini Banerji, chief executive officer, Pratham Education, Vijay Pingale, President, Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States and Yamini Aiyar, former president and chief executive officer, Centre for Policy Research among others.
