Ishneet Kaur

Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Ishneet Kaur is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia, where she works on Project HESE, a study examining household electricity consumption decisions and the frictions that hinder energy conservation. Her role involves managing data collection, ensuring data quality, and coordinating with field teams to support rigorous research implementation.
Prior to this, she was a Research Consultant on a project in Patna, investigating barriers to women's employment in India. She contributed to survey protocol development, IRB amendments, and instrument design, coding surveys in Qualtrics, and supervising phone surveyors for follow-up data collection.
She also worked as a Field Manager on a randomized control trial in Punjab, conducted in collaboration with researchers from the University of Illinois, Glasgow University, and Stanford University, assessing the impact of a digital literacy program on young adults. In this role, she led field teams, coordinated data collection, trained surveyors, and ensured effective implementation of surveys and interventions.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Delhi. Her research interests include gender, labor markets, and education.
