Project Associate, J-PAL South Asia
Saravanakumar works as a Project Associate on the 'Identifying and Nurturing Math Talent at Scale' project. Joining J-PAL South Asia at IFMR in 2017 in the survey operations team, he has gained experience across various sectors, including education and health. His contributions include work with the Tamil Nadu Integrated Child Development Services (TNICDS), Tamil Nadu Early Childhood Education (TNECE), the Right to Education (RTE) and Learning Loss project, the 'Technical Assisted Caregiver Program (TACP)', and the 'Tamil Nadu Child Health and Nutrition (TNCHN) Project', which focuses on improving child growth and reducing malnutrition.
He began his career as a Monitoring & Evaluation Officer for the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS), contributing to HIV awareness initiatives targeting migrant populations. He has also served as a Field Supervisor on significant survey projects, including 'DLHS-4' and 'NFHS-4', and has experience in market research with Nielsen India.
Academically, he holds a Master of Social Work degree from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli (2011), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications.
