Constanza Alarcon
Manager, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean
Constanza Alarcón Cordón is a Policy Manager for Early Childhood at J-PAL LAC working on scoping and developing partnerships with organizations that implement programs and actions for promoting early childhood development in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador through the “Programa de Sondeo y Arranque – PROSA.”
Prior to joining J-PAL LAC in 2023, she worked as a principal investigator and independent consultant for the International Food and Policy Research Institute focusing on qualitative and quantitative assessments of food security programs in Guatemala. She also served as the 2020-2021 Nielsen philanthropy research assistant for the Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership at Georgetown's McCourt School of Public Policy, focusing on research and work surrounding public policy, philanthropy, and nonprofit leadership. Prior to this, she served for five years as the Programs Director for a Guatemalan nonprofit, Guatemala Visible, focusing on institutional strengthening, advocacy, and technological development. She has also consulted for Guatemala’s Ministry of Economy, acted as a Political Contributor for national news outlets, as well as interned for the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative and UNIDOS US.
She holds a master's in international development policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor in arts in political science and English from Grinnell College.
