The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center working to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. Anchored by a network of more than 1,000 researchers at universities around the world, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to answer critical questions in the fight against poverty.

Our affiliated professors are based at over 120 universities and conduct randomized evaluations around the world to design, evaluate, and improve programs and policies aimed at reducing poverty. They set their own research agendas, raise funds to support their evaluations, and work with J-PAL staff on research, policy outreach, and training.

Associate Director - Human Resources, J-PAL South Asia
Harpreet Singh is Associate Director of Human Resources at J-PAL South Asia. He leads J-PAL South Asia’s Human resource department and focusses on aligning people strategy to meet organisation’s goals and priorities.
Prior to joining J-PAL South Asia, Harpreet was an Asst. Director at Ernst & Young, India where he led various talent management practices. He was a Site HR lead and India L&D leader at Bertelsmann group’s WOS named Arvato (now called Majorel). Harpreet has also worked with MetLife insurance and Dell computers in the past.
Harpreet holds Executive PGDM from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. He holds an SPHR certification from HRCI®, an internationally acclaimed HR body. Harpreet attended various leadership programs with IIM-Lucknow and holds a degree in Medicine (Homeopathy) from Delhi University.
